OptimizingDetectionandAvoidingFalseAlarms Forbestdetection,avoidinstallingin: l Roomswithlined,insulating,orsounddeadeningdrapes. l Roomswithclosedwoodenwindowshuttersinside. Forbestfalsealarmimmunity: l Avoid24-hourloopapplications(perimeterloopOK). l Don'tusewherewhitenoise,suchasaircompressornoise,ispresent(ablastofcompressedairmaycauseafalsealarm) l Avoidroomssmallerthan3x3m(10x10ft)androomswithmultiplenoisesourcessuchassmallkitchens,glassboothsnoisyareas,garages, smallbathrooms,etc. Areastoavoid: l Glassairlocksandglassvestibuleareas l Noisykitchens l Residentialcargarages l Smallutilityrooms l Stairwells l Smallbathrooms l Forglassbreakprotectioninsuchapplications,useshocksensorsonthewindowsorwindowframes. InstalltheGB-502PG2onaperimeterloopwhichisarmedwheneverthedoorandwindowcontactsarearmed. NOTE:GB-502PG2shallbeinstalledinaccordancewiththeStandardforInstallationandClassificationofBurglarandHoldupAlarmSystems,UL681 ProtectingOccupiedAreas Thefalsealarmimmunityisbestinroomswithonlymoderatenoise.For24-houroccupiedareaprotection,useshocksensors. ProperTesting TheGB-502PG2isdesignedtodetectthebreakingofframedglassmountedinanoutsidewall.Testingthesensorwithunframedglass,broken bottles,etc.,maynottripthesensor.Thesensortypicallydoesnottriptoglassbreakinginthemiddleoftheroom.Noburglarbreaksglassinthe middleofaroom,sosuch“breaks”arefalsealarms. NOTE:GB-502PG2maynotconsistentlydetectcracksinglass,orbulletswhichbreakthroughtheglass.Glass-breaksensorsshouldalwaysbe backedupbyinteriorprotection. Forbestfalsealarmimmunitythesensorshouldbelocatedatleast1.2m(4ft)awayfromnoisesources(televisions,speakers,sinks,doors,etc.).The sensormustalwaysbeindirectlineofsightofallprotectedwindows.Itcannotconsistentlydetectglassbreakingaroundcorners,inotherrooms,etc. Frontorback,upordownorientationisnotnecessary. SoundTravelConsiderations Sincethesoundofbreakingglasstravelsdirectionallyoutfromthebrokenwindow,thebestlocationformountingthesensorisontheoppositewall- assumingtheglasstobeprotectediswithinthesensor'srangeandlineofsight.Whenmountedontheoppositewall,thedetectorshouldbemounted atleast1.8m(6ft)offthefloor,butnotlessthan30cm(12”)fromtheceiling.Theceilingalsohasgoodsensorlocations.Aceilingmountedsensorwill D-306217GB-502PG2InstallationInstructions 3 havebetterdetectionifpositioned2-4m(6-12ft)awayfromtheprotectedglassintotheroom.Cornerandadjoining(side)wallmountingisper- mittedbutrangeversusanglelimitationsshouldbetakenintoconsideration. Thereshouldbenoobstructionsbetweenthedetectorandtheprotectedglass.Curtains,blindsandsoundabsorbingmaterialsintheprotectedroom mayreducetheeffectiverange. Aswithallglass-breaksensors,mountingonthesamewallastheprotectedglassislesseffectiveandstrictlynotrecommended-optimumdetectionis partiallydependentonsoundreflectionofftheoppositewall. 2. Generateaflexsignalandsimulateaglassbreakingsoundbyusingoneofthefollowingmethods:
l Simulatorinmanualmode Holdthesimulatorclosetotheprotectedglass.Thumptheglassandimmediatelystartthesimulatormanuallytocreatethesoundofbreak- ingglass.ExamplesofsuchsimulatorsareAFT-100or5709C. l Simulatorwithautomaticactivation Holdthesimulatorclosetotheprotectedglass.Thumptheglass,thesimulatorcreatesthesoundofbreakingglassautomatically.Examples ofautomaticsimulatorsusingflexsignalsareFG-700/FG-701orGT-2. l Handclap Thumptheglassandimmediatelyclaphandsfirmlythreetimes.Thismethodisbestusedinrelativelysmallroomswithamaximumdistance upto5or6m(16ftor20ft). Note TheinstructionsforsomesimulatorsinstructyoutoswitchtheglassbreakdetectortoTestmodebysoundingaspecialsignal.TheGB-502 PG2detectorhasaninbuiltTestmodethereforeitisnotnecessarytousethatswitch. Useaglasspanewithdimensionsofatleast0.5x0.5m(1.5x1.5ft)toassuresuccessofthesimulatortest. Alwaysaimthesimulatoratthedetectorbeingtested.
3. Thedetectorwillalarm,theredLED lightsfor2seconds.
4. Repeatthetestifnecessary.
IMPORTANT!Roomacousticscanartificiallyextendtherangeofaglass-breaksensor.ThespecifiedrangeoftheGB-502PG2hasbeenestablished forworst-caseconditions.Whilethesensorislikelytofunctionatadditionalrange,itmaymissa“minimumoutput”break,orroomacousticsmaybe changedatsomefuturetime,restoringsensorcoveragebacktothenormalrangeof6m(20ft). Donotexceedtheratedrangeofthesensor,regardlessofwhatthetestershows. TheManufacturershallbeundernoliabilitywhatsoeverarisingoutofthecorruptionand/ormalfunctioningofanytelecommunicationorelectronic equipmentoranyprograms. 1.SCOPEOFLICENSE.TheSoftwaremayincludecomputercode,programfilesandanyassociatedmedia,hardwareorsoftwarekeys,printed materialandelectronicdocumentation. TheSoftwaremaybeprovidedtoyoupre-installedonastoragedevice(themedia)aspartofacomputersys- temorotherhardwareordevice(“System”).TheSoftwareisprotectedbycopyrightlawsandinternationalcopyrighttreaties,aswellasotherintel- lectualpropertylawsandtreaties.AlltitleandintellectualpropertyrightsinandtotheSoftware(includingbutnotlimitedtoanyimages,photographs, andtextincorporatedintotheSoftware),theaccompanyingprintedmaterials,andanycopiesoftheSoftware,areownedbyTycoand/oritssuppliers. TheSoftwareislicensed,notsold. AllrightsnotexpresslygrantedunderthisEULAarereservedbyTycoanditssuppliers. 2.GRANTOFLICENSE.ThisEULAgrantsyouthefollowingrightsonanon-exclusivebasis: a.General.ThisEULApermitsyoutousetheSoftwareforwhichyouhavepurchasedthisEULA.Onceyouhavepurchasedlicensesforthenumber ofcopiesoftheSoftwarethatyourequire,youmayusetheSoftwareandaccompanyingmaterialprovidedthatyouinstallandusenomorethan thelicensednumberofcopiesatonetime.TheSoftwareisonlylicensedforusewithspecifiedLicensor-suppliedSystems.IftheSoftwareispro- tectedbyasoftwareorhardwarekeyorotherdevice,theSoftwaremaybeusedonanycomputeronwhichthekeyisinstalled. Ifthekeylocksthe SoftwaretoaparticularSystem,theSoftwaremayonlybeusedonthatSystem. b.LocallyStoredComponents.TheSoftwaremayincludea softwarecodecomponentthatmaybestoredandoperatedlocallyononeormore devices.Onceyouhavepaidtherequiredlicensefeesforthesedevices(asdeterminedbyTycoinitssolediscretion),youmayinstalland/oruse onecopyofsuchcomponentoftheSoftwareoneachofthedevicesaslicensedbyTyco. Youmaythenuse,access,display,runorotherwiseinter- actwith("use")suchcomponentoftheSoftwareinconnectionwithoperatingthedeviceonwhichitisinstalledsolelyinthemannersetforthinany accompanyingdocumentationor,intheabsenceofsuch,solelyinthemannercontemplatedbythenatureoftheSoftware. c.RemotelyStoredComponents.TheSoftwaremayalsoincludea softwarecodecomponentforoperatingoneormoredevicesremotely. You mayinstalland/oruseonecopyofsuchcomponentoftheSoftwareonaremotestoragedeviceonaninternalnetworkwithallofthedevicesand mayoperatesuchcomponentwitheachdeviceovertheinternalnetworksolelyinthemannersetforthinanyaccompanyingdocumentationor,in theabsenceofsuch,solelyinthemannercontemplatedbythenatureoftheSoftware;providedhowever,youmuststillacquiretherequirednum- beroflicensesforeachofthedeviceswithwhichsuchcomponentistobeoperated. d.EmbeddedSoftware/Firmware.TheSoftwaremayalsoincludeasoftwarecodecomponentthatisresidentinadeviceasprovidedbyTycofor operatingthatdevice. YoumayusesuchcomponentoftheSoftwaresolelyinconnectionwiththeuseofthatdevice,butmaynotretrieve,copyor otherwisetransferthatsoftwarecomponenttoanyothermediaordevicewithoutTyco'sexpresspriorwrittenauthorization. e.BackupCopy.Youmaymakeaback-upcopyoftheSoftware(otherthanembeddedsoftware)solelyforarchivalpurposes,whichcopymayonly beusedtoreplaceacomponentoftheSoftwareforwhichyouhavecurrentvalidlicense. ExceptasexpresslyprovidedinthisEULA,youmaynot otherwisemakecopiesoftheSoftware,includingtheprintedmaterials. 3.OTHERRIGHTSANDLIMITATIONS.YouruseoftheSoftwareissubjecttothefollowingadditionallimitations. Failuretocomplywithanyof theserestrictionswillresultinautomaticterminationofthisEULAandwillmakeavailabletoTycootherlegalremedies. D-306217GB-502PG2InstallationInstructions 11 a.LimitationsonReverseEngineeringandDerivativeWorks.Youmaynotreverseengineer,decompile,ordisassembletheSoftware,andany attempttodososhallimmediatelyterminatethisEULA-exceptandonlytotheextentthatsuchactivitymaybeexpresslypermittedbyapplicable lawnotwithstandingthislimitation.YoumaynotmakeanychangesormodificationstoanyportionoftheSoftware,orcreateanyderivativeworks, withoutthewrittenpermissionofanofficerofTyco(exceptasprovidedinSection3(f)ofthisEULAwithrespectto“opensource”software).You maynotremoveanyproprietarynotices,marksorlabelsfromtheSoftware.Youshallinstitutereasonablemeasurestoensurecompliancewith thetermsandconditionsofthisEULAbyyourpersonnelandagents. b.CopyrightNotices.YoumustmaintainallcopyrightnoticesonallcopiesoftheSoftware. c.Transfer.YoumayonlytransferyourrightsunderthisEULA(i)aspartofapermanentsaleortransferofallofthedevicesforwhichtheSoftware islicensedasapplicable;(ii)ifyoutransferalloftheSoftware(includingallcomponentparts,themediaandprintedmaterials,anyupgradesand thisEULA);(iii)ifyoudonotretainanycopiesofanyportionoftheSoftware;(iv)iftherecipientagreestothetermsofthisEULA;and(v)iftheSoft- wareisanupgrade,suchtransfermustalsoincludeallpriorversionsoftheSoftware. Youagreethatfailuretomeetalloftheseconditionsrenders suchtransfernullandvoid. d.Termination.Withoutprejudicetoanyotherrights,TycomayterminatethisEULAifyoufailtocomplywiththetermsandconditionsherein.In suchevent,youmustimmediatelydestroyallcopiesoftheSoftwareandallofitscomponentparts. TotheextenttheSoftwareisembeddedin hardwareorfirmware,youwillprovidepromptaccesstoTycooritsrepresentativetoremoveorlockSoftwarefeaturesorfunctionalityasTyco determines. e.SubsequentEULA.TycomayalsosupersedethisEULAwithasubsequentEULApursuanttoprovidingyouwithanyfuturecomponent,release, upgradeorothermodificationoradditiontotheSoftware. Similarly,totheextentthatthetermsofthisEULAconflictwithanypriorEULAorother agreementbetweenyouandTycoregardingtheSoftware,thetermsofthisEULAshallprevail. f.Incorporationof“OpenSource”andotherThirdPartySoftware.PortionsoftheSoftwaremaybesubjecttocertainthirdpartylicenseagree- mentsgoverningtheuse,copying,modification,redistributionandwarrantyofthoseportionsoftheSoftware,includingwhatiscommonlyknown as“opensource”software. AcopyofeachapplicablethirdpartylicensecanbefoundinthefileREADME.TXTorotherdocumentationaccom- panyingtheSoftware. SuchopensourcesoftwareisnotsubjecttoanywarrantyandindemnitysetforthinthisEULA. ByusingtheSoftwareyou arealsoagreeingtobeboundtothetermsofsuchthirdpartylicenses. Ifprovidedforintheapplicablethirdpartylicense,youhavea rightto receivesourcecodeforsuchsoftwareforuseanddistributioninanyprogramthatyoucreate,solongasyouinturnagreetobeboundtothe termsoftheapplicablethirdpartylicense,andyourprogramsaredistributedunderthetermsofthatlicense. Acopyofsuchsourcecodemaybe obtainedfreeofchargebycontactingyourTycorepresentative. g.Trademarks.ThisEULAdoesnotgrantyouanyrightsinconnectionwithanytrademarksorservicemarksofTyco,itsaffiliatesoritssuppliers. h.Rental.Youmaynotsublicense,rent,leaseorlendtheSoftware.Youmaynotmakeitavailabletoothersorpostitonaserverorwebsiteoroth- erwisedistributeit. i.SoftwareKeys.Thehardware/softwarekey,whereapplicable,isyourproofoflicensetoexercisetherightsgrantedhereinandmustberetained byyou. Lostorstolenkeyswillnotbereplaced. j.DemonstrationandEvaluationCopies.AdemonstrationorevaluationcopyoftheSoftwareiscoveredbythisEULA;providedthatthelicenses containedhereinshallexpireattheendofthedemonstrationorevaluationperiod. k.RegistrationofSoftware.TheSoftwaremayrequireregistrationwithTycopriortouse. IfyoudonotregistertheSoftware,thisEULAisauto- maticallyterminatedandyoumaynotusetheSoftware. l.AdditionalRestrictions.TheSoftwaremaybesubjecttoadditionalrestrictionsandconditionsonuseasspecifiedinthedocumentationaccom- panyingsuchSoftware,whichadditionalrestrictionsandconditionsareherebyincorporatedintoandmadeapartofthisEULA. m.UpgradesandUpdates.TotheextentTycomakesthemavailable,Softwareupgradesandupdatesmayonlybeusedtoreplaceallorpartof theoriginalSoftwarethatyouarelicensedtouse. Softwareupgradesandupdatesdonotincreasethenumberofcopieslicensedtoyou. Ifthe Softwareisanupgradeofa componentofapackageofSoftwareprogramsthatyoulicensedasa singleproduct,theSoftwaremaybeusedand transferredonlyaspartofthatsingleproductpackageandmaynotbeseparatedforuseonmorethanonecomputerorSystem. Software upgradesandupdatesdownloadedfreeofchargeviaa TycoauthorizedWorldWideWeborFTP sitemaybeusedtoupgrademultipleSystems providedthatyouarelicensedtousetheoriginalSoftwareonthoseSystems. n.ToolsandUtilities.SoftwaredistributedviaaTyco-authorizedWorldWideWeborFTPsite(orsimilarTyco-authorizeddistributionmeans)asa toolorutilitymaybecopiedandinstalledwithoutlimitationprovidedthattheSoftwareisnotdistributedorsoldandtheSoftwareisonlyusedfor theintendedpurposeofthetoolorutilityandinconjunctionwithTycoproducts. AllothertermsandconditionsofthisEULAcontinuetoapply. 4.EXPORTRESTRICTIONS.Youagreethatyouwillnotexport,re-exportortransferanyportionoftheSoftware,oranydirectproductthereof (theforegoingcollectivelyreferredtoasthe"RestrictedComponents"),toIRAN,NORTHKOREA,SYRIA,CUBAandSUDAN, includinganyentitiesor personsinthosecountries,eitherdirectlyorindirectly(“Tyco’sPosition”). Youalsoagreethatyouwillnotexport,re-exportortransfertheRestricted Componentstoanyothercountriesexceptinfullcompliancewithallapplicablegovernmentalrequirements,includingbutnotlimitedtoapplicableeco- nomicsanctionsandconstraintsadministeredbyanyIsraeligovernmentalauthority,including,butnotlimitedtotheIsraeliMinistryofDefense,byany applicabletreaty,applicableexportcontrolmeasuresadministeredbyIsrael, U.S.TreasuryDepartmentandapplicableexportcontrolmeasures administeredbytheU.S.DepartmentofCommerceandU.S.DepartmentofState,anyotherU.S.governmentagencies,andmeasuresadministered bytheEuropeanUnionorthegovernmentagenciesofanyothercountries. AnyviolationbyyouoftheapplicablelawsorregulationsoftheU.S.orany D-306217 GB-502 PG2 Installation Instructions 12 other government, or where you breach Tyco’s Position notwithstanding whether or not this is contrary to any aforementioned applicable laws or reg- ulations, will result in automatic termination of this EULA.
5. U.S. GOVERNMENT RESTRICTED RIGHTS. The Software is Commercial Computer Software provided with "restricted rights" under Federal
Acquisition Regulations and agency supplements to them. Any use, duplication or disclosure by the U.S. Government is subject to restrictions as set forth in subparagraph (c)(1)(ii) of the Rights in Technical Data and Computer Software clause at DFAR 255.227-7013 et. seq. or 252.211-7015, or sub- paragraphs (a) through (d) of the Commercial Computer Software Restricted Rights at FAR 52.227- 19, as applicable, or similar clauses in the NASA FAR Supplement. 6. LIMITATION
OF LIABILITY & EXCLUSION OF DAMAGES.
a. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY. IN NO EVENT WILL TYCO’S AGGREGATE LIABILITY (INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, LIABILITY FOR NEGLIGENCE,
STRICT LIABILITY, BREACH OF CONTRACT, MISREPRESENTATION AND OTHER CONTRACT OR TORT CLAIMS) ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO
THIS EULA, OR THE USE OF THE SOFTWARE, EXCEED THE AMOUNT OF FEES YOU PAID TO TYCO OR ITS RESELLER FOR THE SOFTWARE THAT
GIVES RISE TO SUCH LIABILITY. BECAUSE AND TO THE EXTENT THAT SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSIONS OR LIMITATIONS
OF LIABILITY ABOVE, THESE MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.
b. EXCLUSION
OF OTHER DAMAGES.UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES SHALL TYCO OR ANY OF ITS RESELLERS OR LICENSORS BE LIABLE FOR ANY OF
THE FOLLOWING: (I) THIRD PARTY CLAIMS; (II) LOSS OR DAMAGE TO ANY SYSTEMS, RECORDS OR DATA, OR LIABILITIES RELATED TO A
VIOLATION OF AN INDIVIDUAL'S PRIVACY RIGHTS; OR (III) INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, PUNITIVE, RELIANCE, OR COVER
DAMAGES (INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION, LOSS OF PROFITS, BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, LOSS OF DATA OR BUSINESS INFORMATION AND
LOST SAVINGS), IN EACH CASE EVEN IF TYCO HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. YOU ARE SOLELY RESPONSIBLE AND
LIABLE FOR VERIFYING THE SECURITY, ACCURACY AND ADEQUACY OF ANY OUTPUT FROM THE SOFTWARE, AND FOR ANY RELIANCE THEREON.
SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OF INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, OR THE LIMITATION ON HOW LONG AN
IMPLIED WARRANTY LASTS, SO SOME OF THE ABOVE LIMITATIONS MAY APPLY TO YOU ONLY TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY THOSE LAWS.
GENERAL. If any provision of this EULA is found to be unlawful, void, or for any reason unenforceable, then that provision shall be severed from this EULA and shall not affect the validity and enforceability of the remaining provisions. You should retain proof of the license fee paid, including model num- ber, serial number and date of payment, and present such proof of payment when seeking service or assistance covered by the warranty set forth in this EULA. This EULA is governed by the laws of Israel, without giving effect to any choice or conflict of law provision or rule that would cause the application of the laws of any jurisdiction other than Israel. Each of the Parties submits to the exclusive jurisdiction of any court sitting in Tel Aviv, Israel for purposes of resolving any and all disputes arising under or related to these terms and conditions.
